Details of the walk:

Our transport will take us to Forest Green outside the football grounds. The walk takes us through Shortwood, a tiny village perched above Nailsworth. We go down to the Nailsworth valley and follow this briefly, past former woollen mills including Ruskin Mill, before climbing through Horsley and up through the escarpment to another tiny village at Kingscote.

The walk then goes down past Owlpen Manor, the location for several films, and into Uley, another village whose fortunes were based around wool. We climb again to Uley Bury, with its iron-age hill fort, with views across to May Hill and Welsh mountains beyond (weather permitting) before dropping down to Dursley.

Special areas of interest:
The New Lawn, Ruskin Mill and its lakes, Owlpen Manor, Uley Bury.
Additional items you need to bring on this walk:
Packed Lunch.
