Map to start point:
Initially a short very steep climb up Stinchcombe Hill, then easy woodland paths to Ashen Plains, for a mile of awkward but pleasant terrain. Return to Dursley via Twinberrow Woods and a steep tricky downward slope.
There is additional parking today for this walk in the nearby Community Centre car park.
The walk is designed to introduce walkers to little-known permissive paths waymarked recently by Dursley Welcomes Walkers and not shown as rights of way on maps.
- Dogs on a short leash are allowed
- Please bring drinks and refreshments
- This a family friendly walk. Accompanied children are welcome

Our goal is to provide a free walking festival for the local community and visitors to our beautiful countryside. We also work on projects throughout the year to improve access to walking activities.
Only if you are able, please consider making a donation online to allow this to continue in 2025.
Please note everyone is invited to book, attend and enjoy the festival regardless.
