Details of the walk:

We meet at Sainsbury’s and our transport takes us to the village of Avening for the start of the walk.

The first section takes us through undulating valleys, past a waterfall, statues and beautiful riverside paths. A short, steep climb takes us up to Horsley Community Stores for a well earned break.

We then take a path out through the shaded Kingscote woods and emerge in the stunning Kingscote Valley. From there, we cross over towards Owlpen and Uley and break for lunch.

The final leg takes us through Uley, along a green lane and then follow the Cotswold Way back to Dursley, in time for tea and cakes.


There is additional parking today for this walk in the nearby Community Centre car park.

Special areas of interest:
The Dursley Walking Festival always ends with tea and cakes in the Methodist church hall. Our walk will be timed to finish when they start serving at 3pm.
Additional costs required:
Dursley Welcomes Walkers is funding the coach to enable everyone to access a fine linear walk during the festival.

  • Coach transport will take you from the meeting point to the start of the walk

Our goal is to provide a free walking festival for the local community and visitors to our beautiful countryside. We also work on projects throughout the year to improve access to walking activities.
