Map to start point:
This is a very relaxed, no pressure fun walk that allows you to explore the idea of drawing in the landscape.
From Tesco in Cam, it starts through Rackleaze Wildlife area taking us quickly into open fields across local ancient footpaths towards Upthorpe. Stinchcombe Hill and Dursley Woods are ever present on the skyline and soon into the walk we also get long views over the River Severn and May Hill. Further on Cam Peak is our constant companion before the beautiful 14th Century St George’s Church, in the original Cam settlement, comes into site.
Beginners and experts alike are welcome, just bring a pencil and some paper – and a camera if you wish.
While the emphasis for the walk is on drawing and we will stop for 2-3 short drawing breaks, we hope to be joined by an expert photographer who can help those who wish to develop their skills taking photos of the landscape as we go – even if just on your phone.
Bring pencil and/or pen and paper.
No costs but walker needs to bring pencil and paper pad (or ipad). I usually have some extras with me just in case.
- Please bring drinks and refreshments
- This a family friendly walk. Accompanied children are welcome
